… The Little Lessons Podcast
The Little Lessons Podcast was launched by myself, Meghan Mitchell in September 2022. My goal is to help listeners recognize the small and significant ways that God communicates with His children. I do this by sharing my own personal experiences and interviewing a wide variety of guests.
Since the launch of the podcast, I have had the privilege of conducting dozens of unique interviews with people from various professions and different walks of life. Some of those guests include:
- Richie Steadman, host of The Cultural Hall podcast, former radio DJ (Radio From Hell) and producer at BYU Broadcasting
- Toni Ragsdale, Co-founder of Fill the Pot ministry in downtown Salt Lake City
- Julie Boye, Mother of 8, Instagram and YouTube influencer, children’s book author
- Surba Tucker, ‘Best in State’ finalist, personal training.
- Kory Luker, 2 time kidney transplant recipient and father of 5.
- Molly Ashton, first Crumbl Cookie franchisee outside of the state of Utah and mother of 3
- ‘Grandpa’ Bent Beck, Founder and Chief Executive Grandpa of Grandpa Beck’s games
The Little Lessons Podcast published the first episode, a trailer, on August 15, 2022, and officially launched on September 1. Since that time, I have published 42 total episodes: 32 numbered episodes, and 10 mini episodes. As of May 2023 there have been 3500 downloads across multiple devices and podcast listening platforms including Apple Podcast, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. We have downloads occurring in 43+ states in America; in addition, we have been downloaded in 14 other countries including Israel, Thailand, Ireland and Switzerland. The podcast is consistently published once a week, which has remained unchanged with the exception of a special daily feature that I did during Holy Week leading up to the celebration of Easter in 2023.
… host Meghan Mitchell
Hi! My name is Meghan Mitchell and I’m so excited to introduce myself! I am a wife, a mother of 6, a former professional dancer, a one time soccer player, diehard fan of the Utah Jazz and 1/2 of my hair is currently dyed teal (it’s the bottom half, not 1 side brown and 1 side teal…that would be weird, maybe).
So why did I start The Little Lessons Podcast? Well, the story has a few tiny twists and turns with a few starts and stops along the way. But for the purpose of this introduction, these are the parts that matter the most. I love talking, I love Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, and I love talking about the way they work in my life and hearing about the role they play in the lives of others. Out of those things that I love, The Little Lessons Podcast was born.
As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have been taught about talents and gifts. I have been told that my talents are gifts from God and should be developed and shared and then used to build His kingdom. This podcast gives me the opportunity to do just that.
I hope that you enjoy listening to the episodes that I share. The stories they tell are my own and they are personal but so, so meaningful. The interviews that I have the privilege of conducting are inspiring and they teach me so much more than I could have imagined before I started this podcast.
And with that, I invite you to go out into the world, and look for the “Little Lessons” that Heavenly Father is sending especially to you!
